2001 SPACE ODYSSEY

Made for the 4k restoration of 2001 A Space Odyssey focused on the great director Stanley Kubrick.

This was made rather quickly. I had done my research and was ready to sketch but I had some work to finish and it came down to the wire to get it done in 2 days. I try to make my posters unique and so many great fan posters have been made around this film. So, while trying to seek out the heart of the experience and story I kept thinking of the man who put it all together. Kubrick created many one of a kind sets and camera rigs to take cinema into space like never before. He reached deep into Arthur C. Clarke’s novel and translated that depth into visuals. Honoring that vision was what I settled on for this poster.
